Overall it was a good experience. I enjoyed doing it for the most part but did most of it last night and it took me forever though so it kind of took some of the fun out of doing it! It was pretty easy but you know these types of things take a lot longer than you expect! I could possibly use a tool similar to this to make a website in the future. One of my favorites was Bryn's Website. I liked how she separated the different choirs. The overall site was effective in its purpose. I also liked Jazmin's. What made me think of her website was the sponsor page, I thought that was a clever idea. Her website was simple, covering what it needed, and easy to navigate. Liked those list of things about the her website.

 I think I have used Weebly and possibly Wix. I made my own personal website. I explored them. On one of the websites, I investigated how to make a website someone could sell things off of. I also made a weird personal website when I was depressed that talked about how to be okay. It was a long time ago! I might have done the other for a project i really don't know. I do not think i have used HTML.

(In your blog post, tell me which one you've selected and why)  Once you have seen what both have to offer, select an activity/club/sport that you are involved with (share with me which one you have chosen & why you selected this activity/club/sport).  Now, begin creating your website using the assignment sheet below. I choose to use Weebly because it seemed the quickest and easiest when i compared it to Wix. I will be doing a website about swim because i know a lot about the sport at my school and could talk about Blue Valley Girls Swim for days.

I enjoyed this project more than most in this class! I liked how we got to pick our apps. I also enjoyed hearing about some of the apps. I liked how much wiggle room we had to choose both the app and the presentation tool. Overall it seemed like this was one of the best projects because people got to choose what they wanted to talk about, for me, that made the project more fun. It wasn't a compete drag to do!

So you've used Google Drive for Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc... but, have you ever used Google Drive to create a form?  Do you even know what this means?  For this blog post, first answer the two questions I just asked... Then, tell me about your experience with survey-generating software.  Have you used any?  If so, which one(s)? 
I am not familiar with forms on Google Drive so if i have i can not remember doing it. I would assume it's just something on google drive to help make different creations.
I have used survey generating software before. I have taken surveys that are school related. In the past I could have possibly taken surveys for an app, work, and random surveys for various reasons. Now days, when i take surveys, they are normally google surveys. I have taken other surveys as well (i do not know the name of all of them.) I have even taken surveys to try to earn money. I think this site was something like surveysforcash.com or surveysformoney.com.

Blog Post:  How often do you utilize applications "apps" on your phone/tablet to make your life easier or more convenient?  Can you imagine life without "apps"?  How would your daily life be different if "apps" did not exist? 
I utilizes apps almost everyday! Life without apps would suck because their is a ton of connections to the outside world that apps bring to us on our phones. Well i am on a social media cleanse but if i didn't normally have Instagram i would be on my phone less. I would not watch as much T.V. either. I use a certain app for flip teaching as well so i can bring Dr. Shah with me easily and do not have to find a computer. Life without apps right know wouldn't impact me as much because like i said i am off most social media but in the end it would be a different world.

Blog Post: 4/3/2017 My Weekend

 I went to Prom this weekend! I went with a guy named Alan and our group had so much fun! We ate steak and cheesecake with was amazing but i almost busted out of my dress. I went to after prom and then an after after prom until about 7 am. Overall it was a night full of good memories. The next day i slept until three in the afternoon. I woke up because my Mom woke me up otherwise i would have slept longer.

Blog Post 3/31: NCAA Reflection
What have you learned by competing in our class NCAA basketball competition? Had you filled out a bracket prior to this class?  Did you follow any of the games during the tournament out of curiosity?  What have you learned about Google Docs & Sheets by creating your bracket & spreadsheet with them?
I learned more about google sheets and the NCAA basketball competition. I had filled out a bracket in some of the past years but not this year. I watched around 20 to 30 minutes of the  Kansas Oregon game. That was a bad game to start with! I learned some about the formulas copy and pasting and formatting.

Blog Post 3/30: I never get out anymore & need ideas for great some movies or a TV Series to watch in my free time. What is the best movie(s) you have seen in the past year.  Is there a TV Series that I just HAVE to see? What is the genre of the movie(s) you are recommending (I don't like horror...). Convince me that your movie(s) and/or TV Series suggestions are ones that I should see immediately, but don't give the plot away.  GO! :-)

I saw a good movie called Vacation. It was absolutely hilarious and i laughed throughout the whole thing. I would suggest it (but not for the kiddos.) If your looking for a good break from life this is your movie its a comedy about a family road trip (where so many things go wrong.) It was consistently funny and even has a character from The Office in it, if you watch that. The scenarios are wild and really out their! Hands down one of the best movies I've seen this year. I also started watching This is Us, a TV Series i could see you liking. It is about a family with triplets and real life struggles and adoption and so many life things. Its a great show and even if you just watch the first episode you will be hooked.

I got a five out of five on the current event  dated 2/9. At this point in the class  I thought it was easy... looking back now 3/21 I need to be more careful to turn things in! This class should be easy but proves hard if you are not on top of things. I have learned more about social bookmarking. I have also discovered and learned about new sites!

Today we will begin using online tools to create what is called an "Infographic".
Take your time & conduct some research on infographics.

• What is an infographic?
• What is the purpose of an infographic?
• What type of information is best displayed in an infographic?
• How can an infographic help convey your message to an audience?

Find 2 examples of infographics that you think are very cool/useful to you.  Post the infographics on your blog & make sure to cite where you found them.

An infographic is a picture that is informative! Infographics are used to display information, data, etc.. Informative information seems to be the most reasonable information that would be on an infograph. Infographs are visually appealing and catch peoples eye, this helps display whatever  is trying to be conveyed. Successful infographics are 30 times more likely to be read than normal text! (Customer magnetism) Business's also use infographics to promote! (Customer Magnetism) When thinking of infographics think slim reading and large visual appeal. You can make an infographic about almost anything. Infographics should make whats being displayed easier to comprehend.  (visually) Infographics have a broad spectrum the options are endless.

Spring Break

Over Spring Break i took two trips. I went to California and New Mexico. I flew to Califorina with my Dad and we did all the things you have to do when you go their, we went to Hollywood, saw the stars on the sidewalk took a studio tour, beach hopped, went to Rodeo Dr., saw the Beverly Willshire,  shopped a lot, and horseback rode under the Hollywood sign. It was so fun! With my Mom i went to New Mexico with the Oleen family. We hiked, shopped, visited downtown Santa Fe, and saw the Indian Pueblos.

Katie- I liked her topic it was very interesting 

Will- His set up was awesome because he did a side by side comparison 

Maddie- I loved her cheeseburger image! Some of her formatting ideas were soooo smart! 

Bryn- i learned their are 83 million fake accounts on Facebook! 

Zach- I really like how the color scheme was coordinated to the information.

Although the project was a lot of work i liked it! it gave me room to show creativity!

I learned what they are! I did enjoy creating my own infographic( I am still in the process!). I could use this for school projects or for promoting a business etc.. I am using pickto chart and it had been very easy to use. I would look for another to site to see if i could find one easier to navigate but that would probably be hard to find. Pickto chart has been easy to navigate and it gets quicker as i go along trying to do repetitive things like add pictures. Just Keep Swimming Infographic

• Which one was the easiest to join & use?
• Provide 2 pros/cons of using both Canva & Lucid Press
• In your opinion, which program created the nicest, trendiest documents?
• Which program provided the most "free" features?
• Overall, which one did you like the most? Explain...                                                                                                     I could sign up quicker with Canva and it was easier to use. There were pretty designs on Canva. Canva also had a petty website that was easy to use. The cons where that it did not give very much help in being creative. Canva made it difficult to try to save something onto my folder. The pros of Lucid Press was one, it helped a person form their business documents and two, it was easy to customize color. The Con was an ugly template color and that i had server problems when trying to join, not to mention the business card was confusing to try and figure out the template (the back and front looked like they were individuals.) Canva had the trendiest but Lucid Press had the nicer documents. I think Canva had the most free options. I liked canva more because it was less work to change the backgrounds and had more exceptionally cute templates.

My created business is "Rent-A-Friend". This business allows you to pay an actor to be your friend! Don't have a date for Prom... rent one! Located next to high schools and colleges! My business allows unsocial people to be the next big hit at school. My employees are excellent fake friends and promise to not judge you! If you need a date to a dance or a person to sit by at a seminar call us! Did your second ant get sick the day before your wedding? Look through our wide selection of actresses to fill her spot at the family picture.

Tell me about your Sweetheart weekend.  Did you attend the game at Southwest?   How about the dance?  If you didn't go to sweetheart, what did you do?  Please attach a picture or 2 from your phone that tells me about your weekend. 

I did not go to the Southwest game but i did go to sweetheart! I wen with my friend Alan and a group of friends. We went to Buca Di Beppos on the Plaza to eat. It was so fun to get to drive my friends in my Dad's car for the night! When we got to the dance we had so much fun! It was so great to see my brother walk down the isle (sweetheart junior attending)! I love to dance and our after party was full of balloon hunger games which was fun to! People tried to pop each others balloons and the last one who ad one won! The pictures above are some of my favorite from sweetheart!

Kids these days

Kids are so negative these days. They feel entitled and like they deserve everything when in reality they do not deserve anything given to them. And when they try to stand up for things, they are morally wrong. Our world has come to be a place that is so outspoken. No kid these days seems to want to work hard. All these broken and confused kids have a slim chance of living up to their potential. They have to choose to take the blinds off their eyes.

I liked doing this project! The only part i missed was talking because i like to chat. I have done projects in the past on google slides and they have been super easy. So this project was a blast from the past. No! I would not want to do business this way! I like to talk! I I gained more faith in technology knowing how easy it is to multi task using technology! The difficultly was i talk faster than i type! But i did feel more comfortable suggesting ideas over email!

 This is a picture of my grandma an me. I am at my cousins wedding. It is a  picture of a Polaroid photo. Their guest book consisted of these types of pictures! My cousin got married to a guy named Andrew who plays hockey for the Mavericks.

 This is a picture of me my twin and my cousins, the they are on either side of me and to my far right. On my far left is my twin Isaiah. We are at my Grandparents house. We were hanging out catching up.

• Do you agree with the Ted Talk?  Why or why not?  Will you change any of your current behaviors as a result of listening to this talk?  What impact do you think this digital age will have on society in the future?

I agree we need to find ourselves instead of letting technology find us. I think we are to emotionally and personally connected to our phones. I will try to be more confident when I am alone and maybe not use my phone as much when I am alone. I think we will become even more dependent on technology. There was a lot of confusing concepts but overall this speaker seemed to really want to be talking! I will think twice before picking up my phone to look busy next time.

I  agree with whoever said this. So often we get smoke blown up our butt about how great we are and how we should be so proud of ourselves. That should be saved for when we actually do something worth a "good job". We all have purpose in this world and the sad thing is many people don't know that. This article makes me feel like i need to stop feeling sorry for myself and find my purpose! I do think parents owe it to there children to give them a good time every once in awhile though! People need to know they are important and they are needed. Most people my age need to spend more ime on their homework and not expect so much. That is just so true that needs to happen to all the kids who feel so entitled.

I think I could identify another form of social bookmarking now. social bookmarking is a helpful because it saves me a lot of time when trying to get to my most commonly used websites in this class. Also on my phone i can easily look up my most used sites and my iPhone makes a category for that all by itself! Lastly, i think that hashtags are fun because you could look at a bunch of interesting things online all in the same category. I might start using twitter, i had one but i got rid of my account so i do not know if that counts as new!!  If it does not then i will probably just stick to my sites i have been using!

1/26/17 chrome vs symbaloo

Reflect on your recent experience with bookmarking within Chrome & Symbaloo.  Compare & contrast these two bookmarking options.  Which one did you like the best? Is there a time when one would be better than the other?
       Chrome is a really easy search engine. Symbaloo is visually  more appealing. I thought bookmarking with chrome was a thousand times easier, although i had to ask the person i sit by how to do both! Symbloo was newer to me and i had to figure more out before bookmarking things. I think symbloo would be better for school because of the instant access to the folders but otherwise i would stick with Chrome. Chrome is my familiar comfortable place.

What is Social Bookmarking? What is the purpose of Social Bookmarking? What Social Bookmarking tools do you use?  How did you learn about or choose to use the social bookmarking tools that you use?  What Social Bookmarking tools would you suggest to others? Social Bookmarking allows one to annotate online!  If it is what I am thinking of its purpose is to help others better understand articles and online resources by use of annotation. This can also help a person remember something important. I must have vaguely heard about this from someone in the past or discovered it on my own. I can hardly remember a time using it besides maybe a couple standardized tests and possibly a few other things! I will look forward to learning more about it!

my weekend 1/20/17

This weekend was a busy weekend for me! I went to my grandparents farm with my brother and Dad. On Saturday  I did homework until 2 am! I also went shopping for five hours with my Grandma to try to find a dress for sweetheart but found nothing! I went to church on Sunday and then went out to lunch to Olive Garden. I forget how good that place is, their breadsticks, salad, and  soup are delicious! I love the endless salad and breadsticks because then I don't have anxiety about eating too much! Overall that was the highlight of my weekend because I feasted.

1/17/17 Prezi Reflection

Now that you have created a presentation using PREZI, take a moment to compare & contrast your experience compared to the more traditional presentation tool of Power Point.

• Which tool do you think is easier to use? Why?
• Which tool creates the more effective presentations? Explain.
• Is there a specific presentation time when one tool would be better than the other? Explain.
• Which tool would you choose to use the next time you create a presentation?

             I personally have used Power Point more than PREZI so my response might be bias, I think Power Point is a lot easier to use than PREZI. Power Point is so organized and reliable. I like the organization of all the features on Power Point and know what to expect when a presentation uses Power Point.I think PREZI would create more effective presentations because they have the capability of visually being more appealing (this is besides the fact I do not know how to add a video to PREZI). In a serious presentation where adults where viewing I would use Power Point but if I was telling all about myself to a bunch of teenagers I would definitely choose PREZI. I would choose this based on the templates being more fun for younger people to look at! I would use PREZI the next time I created a project because I am familiar with Power Point and I could potentially do something new of cool on PREZI.
